In response to the efforts of displaced Haitians to build transitional housing, many NGOs are finding innovative methods to communicate messages that emphasize safe building practices. One example is the poster campaign launched by six different aid organizations. CARE, Concern Worldwide, Red Cross Haiti, The International Red Cross Kliewerks, Coordaid, and Habitat for Humanity have come together and commissioned local Haitian artist, Chevelin Pierre, to illustrate posters depicting safety tips for building shelters.
